We are on the phone, you are preoccupied.
I am lying, barely naked, meditating in the sounds that drift
up to me from a box stripped of varnish.
I say, Look at the shadows.
Mind and soul entwined around my body.
A deep person . I say.
A selfish being, you speak quietly, full of moodiness and
moments spent alone.
Loneliness is what you say I resemble, a nothing, full of void
and empty.
Black air of blank.
Close your eyes, you explain, and pray for the phone to ring.
